Delivery slip for Data Challenges white paper

The capacity and capability of the construction sector is a vital component of the creation and maintenance of the built environment in Aotearoa New Zealand, yet there are many challenges relating to obtaining and using data in this environment.

This paper describes those challenges, beginning by defining founding principles of good quality data, taking the reader through some examples from our research and leads to a proposal for a minimum data set that allows standardisation and coordination to achieve the objective of a reliable level of functional understanding of the sector.
